Obituary

William Glenn Smith, 51, of 558 Glenn Hazel Road, Johnsonburg and formerly of Bedford, PA died early Friday morning, December 3, 2021 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was born in New Paris, PA a son to Glen Edward Smith and the late Charlotte Jane Grabill Smith. On September 6, 2014 in the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, New Paris, PA he married Michelle L. Hoyt and she survives. He had lived most of his life in Bedford, PA and attended Chestnut Ridge High School. He has lived in Johnsonburg since 2012. William was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, the Western Pennsylvania Teamsters Union, the Ridgway Moose and Johnsonburg Elks Club. He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to go fishing, boating and he was known for his cooking, especially his steaks. He was an avid motorcycle rider and had been a successful dirt bike racer and drag racer.

Mr. Smith was currently employed by Chemtrade for the past 2 years and had been employed by NewPenn Motor Express for twenty years.

He is survived by his father Glenn E. Smith of New Paris, his wife Michelle L. Smith of Johnsonburg, his daughter Alissa Smith and step-son Christopher Svencer of Saxton, PA and step-sons Christian and Logan Krug of Johnsonburg. He is also survived by sisters Tammy S. Smith and her fiancé Rich DeBone, Jr. of New Paris and Tina L. Smith and her fiancé Karl Martin of Alum Bank and a half-brother Glenn W. Smith and his wife Bea of Bedford and half-sisters Christina, Mrs. Mark Bollman and Stacey, Mrs. James Simmons all of Bedford.

A funeral service for William Glenn Smith will be conducted at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel on Thursday December 9, 2021 at 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg as celebrant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family

Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, PA on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM
