William Henry Brawand, 86, of Wilcox, PA died Wednesday evening, October 27, 2021 while peacefully watching football at his home. He was born in Kane, PA a son to the late John W. "Jake" and Martha Rosella "Rosie" Parker Brawand. He spent his early life living with his parents on the Launer Farm in Johnsonburg. In 1947 the family moved to the current Brawand's Dairy Farm. After graduating in 1953 from the Wilcox High School, during the 1950's, he played football for Lock Haven Teacher's College and was later employed to help build new tarmac for Andrews Air Force Base and to help with the construction at the Pentagon. He then went on to help with running the farm with his dad Jake until his death in 1984. Since 1984, Bill has owned and operated Brawand's Dairy and Brawand's Oil Co.
William was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Johnsonburg. He was a member of Wilcox Lodge F&AM, now part of Kane Lodge 566 F&AM, Wilcox American Legion, Wilcox Sportsmen's Club and the Ridgway Rifle Club. He was a nationally renowned shooter and was inducted into the International Bench Rest Shooters Hall of Fame and was a NBRSA Medal winner. He was also a member of many other organizations and affiliations. He was also proud of his family farm's Award from the US Air Force during the Vietnam War for their participation in military drills.
William is survived by 6 daughters; Tammy "Sam" Brawand of Wilcox, Terry Brawand-Buck (Ray) of Irving, TX, Lisa Brawand-Purvis (Joseph) of Raleigh, NC, Melissa Brawand of Wilcox, Kimberly Brawand-Tecak and her longtime companion Larry Matter III of Pittsburgh and Amanda C. Eamigh (Bradley) of DuBois as well as 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a sister; Martha Rosella "Dolly" Stauffer (Tim) of Johnsonburg. He is also survived by his aunt and childhood babysitter Shirley Steudler of Johnsonburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by a brother John Edward Brawand in September of 1957 at age 15.
A Private Funeral Service for William H. Brawand will be conducted at St. John's Lutheran Church, Johnsonburg at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette Twp., PA. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, PA.
