Vera E. "Midge" Johnson, 81, of Worrall Street, Wilcox, formerly of Mount Jewett, died Thursday (Feb. 12, 2015) afternoon as a result of an automobile accident on U.S. Route 219 in Wilcox.
Born Oct. 19, 1933, in Kane, she was a daughter of George B. and Vera Patterson Laughlin. On Oct. 19, 1974, in St. Callistus Church in Kane, she married Richard Johnson, who died Jan. 24, 2012.
Mrs. Johnson lived in Wilcox, had lived in Mount Jewett for 10 years and had lived in Pittsburgh for 20 years.
She graduated from Wilcox High School in 1950. She was a member of St. Ann's Church, Wilcox, formerly of St. Callistus Church, Kane and St. Anne's in Bethel Park. She was very involved in all aspects of "Church Work." She was also a member of the American Legion. She loved her cats.
She had worked for Keystone Carbon Co. and Blair New Process in Warren.
Surviving are a sister, Ellanne Olewinski of Rasselas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and died along with her sister, Rose M. Swanson.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be conducted later at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
