Sara M. Pusl, 91, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, formerly of Mefferts Run Road, Wilcox, died Friday night, Dec. 29, 2017 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.

She was born Dec. 31, 1925 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Walter and Grace Meese Winters.

She married Walter J. Pusl on Jan. 31, 1948 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. He died June 5, 1991.

She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and attended Rolfe School.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She loved playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved doing crafts, especially ceramics and jewelry making. She retired from the Johnsonburg Market Basket Deli after several years. She had also worked at Sylvania in Emporium and Stackpole in St. Marys.

She is survived by two sons, Jerome "Jerry" Pusl of Johnsonburg and Ronald D. Pusl and his wife Patty of Cottonwood, Arizona; four grandchildren, Cole Pusl and his wife Daniela, Racquel, Mrs. Ben Brechtel, Stacie, Mrs. Ed Hanks and Patrick Pusl and his wife Jessica; eight great-grandchildren, Cole Pusl, Cadence and Claire Brechtel, Sara and Hannah Rosenthal, Kennedy Wancewicz and Kayden and Kamryn Pusl; one great-great-grandson, Owen Wancewicz; and two sisters, Helen Eckert and Rosella Wolf, both of Ridgway.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Tom, Mike, Leo "Boob" and Lester Winters, Rachel Brown, Lucille Silcoski, Hilda Gasbarre and Betty Winters and twins in infancy.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Sara M. Pusl to be held Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. There will be no visitation.
