Ronald W. Stanley, 86, of 74 Kane St., Wilcox, died late Wednesday night, December 16, 2020 at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys following a lengthy illness.

He was born on February 7, 1934 in Sergeant, PA a son of the late Roy and Tirzah Reed Stanley. On March 13, 1954 in the Wilcox Presbyterian Church he married Shirley A. Nichols who survives.

He was a resident of the Wilcox are all his life and was a 1951 Graduate of the Wilcox High School. He was a retired employee of Willamette Industries-Penntech Papers in Johnsonburg where he had worked for 42 years. He held several different management positions during his employment and was Purchasing Manager at the time of his retirement in 1993.

Ron loved to spend time with his family, make his homemade wine for which he won several gold and silver medals at area wine competitions, he loved to travel with his wife in his retirement and he enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was a member and Elder of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church, a member and Past Master of the Wilcox F&AM. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Johnsonburg Chamber of Commerce, Johnsonburg Revitalization Committee, Wilcox and Johnsonburg Area Development Corporation and the Jones Twp. Municipal Auth. Mr. Stanley was a past member of the Wilcox Sportsmen's Club, Wilcox Legion, a Member and Past President of the Jones Twp. Senior Center and was a past member of the Johnsonburg Rotary Club. He also served as the President of the Wilcox Cemetery Assn. from 1994 to 2011.

Besides his wife at home, he is survived by a daughter Debra J. O'Connell of Wilcox and sons Craig R. Stanley and his wife Shawna of Wilcox and David M. Stanley and his wife Annie of Williamsburg, VA; five grandchildren Lori, Mrs. Clinton Myers, Keith Stanley, Tori Stanley, Lacey, Mrs. Jason Neubert and Tayler Stanley and one great-grandson Conner Neubert.

Mr. Stanley was predeceased by his parents, a granddaughter Lisa O'Connell, a son-in-law James O'Connell, sisters Helen Fitch Markert, Joan D. Swartz, Ella Mae Powley and Audrey Stanley in infancy and brothers Andrew, Robert and Donald Stanley. He was the last surviving member of his family.

A Private family funeral service for Ronald W. Stanley will be conducted at the Wilcox Presbyterian Church on Saturday December 19, 2020 with Pastor Mark Cantaral as Celebrant. There will be no visitation.

Interment will be in Wilcox Cemetery and will be private and at the convenience of the family.
