Rita P. Beaver, 92, of 3006 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Ridgway, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 10, 2016 in the presence of her immediate family at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 16, 1923 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Samuel "Sam" and Antoinette Donato Beaver.
She resided in Ridgway since 1971 and lived in Johnsonburg most of her life. She graduated from Johnsonburg High School.
She was a member of St. Boniface Church in Kersey. She enjoyed reminiscing about her days in Johnsonburg and her days working at Stackpole Carbon Co. where she was employed for 40 years before retiring in 1992. She also loved spending her days with her dog Chloe.
She is survived by one son, Samuel "Sam" Beaver and his wife Darlene of Ridgway; her grandchildren, Michael Beaver and his wife Shannon, Daniel Beaver and Samantha Beaver and Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Sagan Beaver, Riley Mitchell and Parker Beaver; many nieces and nephews; and her sister, Dawna Nevius of Ridgway.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Albert, Larry, James, Dick and Eugene Beaver; and her sisters, Virginia Beaver, Pauline Licata, Rosie Beaver and Rose Ann Beaver.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita P. Beaver will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, Kersey with Fr. Ross Miceli officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
