Obituary

Raymond J. Stubber, 82, of 230 Cushing Ave., Johnsonburg, died Friday, April 4, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born March 16, 1933 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Joseph and Amelia Duralia Stubber.

He married Joan Kriegish on Nov. 3, 1956 and she survives.
He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and was a 1951 graduate of Johnsonburg High School.

He was a Korean era Navy veteran serving at sea aboard the USS LSM 399 as an END-3.

He was employed by Keystone Carbon Co. for 33 years retiring in 1995.
He had also worked for Muccio Transportation for 17 years. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Rolfe Sportsmen's Club, Johnsonburg Fire Police, a former member of East End Hose Co., past Exalted Ruler of Johnsonburg Elk Club and the Johnsonburg Planning Commission. He was also in charge of running the game clock for Johnsonburg High School football games. He enjoyed woodworking and especially making doll furniture for his grandchildren. He was also appointed to the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame in June of 2011 for having voted for 50 consecutive years.

In addition to his wife at home, he is survived by one son, David Stubber and his wife Marlene of St. Marys; one daughter, Lisa, Mrs. Tim Mahoney of Johnsonburg; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Mrs. Andy Distler, Franchesca, Justin and Scott Stubber, Rebecca and Joseph Mahoney and Benjamin Mahoney and his wife Maddie; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Distler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Joseph and Mark Stubber; and his sisters, Anna Galluch, Mary Wolfe, Ellen Keneske, Margaret Keneske Dorothy Decker and Katie Stubber in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond J. Stubber will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Wednesday, April 8 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Tuesday evening, April 7 from 6-8 p.m.

Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m.
