Olivia V. Williams, 89, of 342 Powers Ave., Johnsonburg, died Monday morning, April 17, 2017 following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 25, 1927 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Vincent and Josephine Cerro Scarano. She married Alvin L. "Spish" Williams on Oct. 27, 1951 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. He died Oct. 16, 2007.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and was a 1945 Johnsonburg Area High School graduate. She belonged to Holy Rosary Church where she was a member of the Funeral Luncheon Committee and had been a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Lady Elks. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She loved cooking and gardening.
She had been employed by Stackpole Carbon Co., Rinovato Pharmacy and the Kay Scida Gift Shop.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca "Becky," Mrs. Gary Eggler of Indiana, Alvin "Spish" Williams and his wife Robin of New Castle, Cynthia "Cindy" Williams of Johnsonburg, Beverly M., Mrs. Chris Tripodi of New Galilee, Maria, Mrs. Andy Lewis of Brockway and Jody, Mrs. Paul Magnuson of Lasey, Washington; her grandchildren, Jessica Salberg, Erika Eggler, Nicole Tripodi, Lindsey Imhof, Hunter Williams and Kelle Williams; her step-grandchildren, Brandon and David Lewis; and her great-grandchildren, Makayla and Elyana Danko, Keagan Lewis, Gianna Imhof, Isaac Micale and Olivia Beimel.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Nicholas "Nick," Joseph and Vincent "Scrap" Scarano; and her sisters, Margaret "Chookie" Pisani, Emma Hau and Bendetta Rosetto.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Olivia V. Williams will be conducted Thursday, April 20 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, with Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. Friends will be received Wednesday, April 19 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. If desired, memorial contributions should be made to Holy Rosary Church, 606 Penn St., Johnsonburg.
