Nancy C. Chiesa, 84, of 402 Clarion Rd., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday night August 30, 2022 at her residence following a short illness.

She was born in Johnsonburg on January 8, 1938 a daughter to the late Anthony and Gertrude Keenen Kriegel. On February 8, 1958 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg she married Gerald G. "Jerry" Chiesa and he survives.

Nancy was a lifelong resident of Johnsonburg and was a 1955 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church where she was a longtime member of the Funeral Luncheon Committee and a longtime Religious Education Teacher. She was a member of the Johnsonburg Fire Department Women's auxiliary for many years. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader and was know to all as the "Fudge Fairy". She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and loved to make people smile by always having a good joke on hand.

Nancy had worked as a teacher with IU9 for over 26 years, retiring in 2000.  She had also worked at Stackpole for 4 years.

Nancy is survived by her husband Jerry at home, her children; Thomas Chiesa and his wife Cheryl of Kersey, Janet Young and her husband Paul of Johnsonburg and Linda Polaski and her husband Ken of Johnsonburg and her grandchildren; Stephanie and Shawn Chiesa, Zachary Young and Adrienne and Brent Polaski. She is also survived by a special seven-year friend Anya Jackson and a sister Sarah Neilson.

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by brothers Richard, Eugene "Oscar", Robert and David Kriegel and sisters Agnes Mehalko, Catherine Brown and Frances Jackson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy Chiesa will be conducted at St. Annes Catholic Church, Wilcox on Friday September 2, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, PA on Friday morning, Sept. 2, 2022 from 9 to 10 AM.
