Obituary

Maureen A. Pistner, 76, of 122 Mercury Rd., St. Marys, died Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2016 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 23, 1940 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Horace and Catherine Condon Kearney.

She married Bernard A. Pistner on May 26, 1963. He died July 18, 1999. She resided in St. Marys since 1964, formerly of Johnsonburg.
She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1958 and was a graduate of Penn State Beauty Academy.

Maureen was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She loved being with her family, music and dancing, gambling and viewing the elk.
She was a self-employed beautician for 35 years and had worked at Wendy's for 25 years and worked at the fruit market for 15 years.

She is survived by three daughters, Michele, Mrs. Jeff Azzato of St. Marys, Erin, Mrs. Todd Rosenhoover of St. Marys and Heidi Berry of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Tony Azzato, Macie Berry, MaKenna Berry and Cody Rosenhoover; three great-grandchildren, Mia Azzato and Aubriella and Kinsley Rosenhoover; two special nieces, Kelly Merritt and Jill Forester; several other nieces and nephews; three great nieces and nephews; and one sister, Catherine "Kitty," Mrs. Harry "Bud" Merritt of Kersey.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Grycen Berry; and three brothers, Charles "Chuck," Kenny and Tim Kearney.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Maureen A. Pistner to be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
