Margaret C. Scutella, 95, of 3311 Long Level Rd., Johnsonburg, died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2015 at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born March 23, 1920 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late John and Anna Dellaquila Cherry.
She married William D. Scutella on Nov. 25, 1946. He died Nov. 25, 2002.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and was a 1939 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Rosary Altar Society, had been a Girl Scout Leader and was involved in local Civil Defense.
She had worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. in Johnsonburg for several years.
Margaret is survived by four daughters, Carol A., Mrs. Thomas Kautz of Lilburn, Ga., Christine Canterbury of Johnsonburg, Phyllis Scutella and Bruce Hotra of Pasadena, Calif., and Judy Skitek of South Pasadena, Calif.; two grandchildren, Kelly Kautz and Caleb Canterbury; one great-grandson, Preston Knox; and one sister, Louise Cierillo of Brick, N.J.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Pat, Tony, Joe, Luke, Jim, George and Vito Cherry; and four sisters, Viola DiIulio, Mary Cardoni, Zil Sheeler and Adeline Weirich.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret C. Scutella will be conducted Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg with Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Thursday evening, Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m.
