Lawrence "Larry" Sprague, 63, of 1399 Silver Creek Rd., Johnsonburg, died Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016 at his residence following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 4, 1953 in Ridgway, son of the late Sidney and Donna Nitche Sprague.
He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and was a 1971 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. He graduated from Williamsport Area Community College as a machinist.
Larry was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Central Hose Company, Ridgway Rifle Club and the Stepping Stone Foundation. He loved sports and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he really enjoyed working on cars. He was self-employed as he owned and operated an auto body repair shop. He had also worked at PCC Powdered Metals and Wilman Pontiac.
He is survived by one son, Jacob "Jake" Sprague of Cary, N.C.; and three sisters, Peggy, Mrs. Steve Aharrah of Ridgway, Diane Oglesby of Johnsonburg and Lori Sprague of Wilcox.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Sprague; a brother, James Sprague; and a sister, Sandy Leithner.
Larry also wished to thank all family and friends who have given and offered support to him, not only during his recent illness, but throughout his life, and he hopes that he was able to provide the same in return over the years.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Lawrence "Larry" Sprague to be conducted Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. In accordance with Larry's wishes, there will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
Memorials if desired may be made to Holy Rosary Church, The Johnsonburg Community Center and The Ridgway Rifle Club.
