Obituary

Larry P. Zuraski Sr., 92, of 2247 Long Level Rd., Johnsonburg, died Monday afternoon, Jan. 22, 2018 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a brief illness.

He was born July 9, 1925 in Johnsonburg, son of the late William and Mary Hoh Zuraski. On Nov. 25, 1950 in the St. Mary's Church, he married Delores Eckert. She preceded him in death Nov. 23, 2006.
He resided in Johnsonburg all his life and attended Johnsonburg schools. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting.

He was a Korean War era Army veteran serving as a sergeant with Battery B, 776th Field Artillery Battalion.
He had been employed by Keystone Carbon of St. Marys for 35 years before retiring in 1992. He had also worked at PennTech papers in Johnsonburg for three years and the Zuraski Dairy for many years.
He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by five daughters, Sharon, Mrs. Sam Kudelok Jr. of Transfer, Barbara, Mrs. Dr. Roberto Turnbull of Indiana, Lori Wismar at home, Michelle, Mrs. Doug Peterson of Harrisburg and Karrie, Mrs. Ken Goss of Camp Hill; two sons, Christopher Zuraski at home and Larry P. Zuraski Jr. and his wife Suzie of Downingtown; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, William Zuraski Jr. of Johnsonburg; and two sisters, Irene Micale of St. Marys and Patricia, Mrs. Ed Levenduski of St. Marys.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Zuraski; a brother, Robert "Bob" Zuraski; four sisters, Anastasia "Stashia" Parnell, Marcella Fledderman, Elizabeth "Honey" Nelson and Loretta Gerber; and a daughter in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Larry P. Zuraski Sr. will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Wednesday evening, Jan. 24 from 6-8 p.m.
Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Burial Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home Thursday morning at 9:15 a.m.
