Kathleen E. "Kathy" Laughner, 73, of 220 Willow Street, Johnsonburg, died early Tuesday morning, November 9, 2021 at her residence following a short illness. She was born on July 9, 1948 in Ridgway, a daughter to the late Virgil and Florence Adamski Warmbrodt. On May 11, 1968 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg she married Richard A. "Rich" Laughner and he survives. Kathy was a lifelong resident of Johnsonburg and was a 1966 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church. Kathy was known as a real "people person". She loved to spend time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She loved baking, cooking, listening to music, traveling, she really loved going to the casino and was a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan..
Kathleen had retired in 2019 from the Elk County Housing Authority after 47 years of service. She had been the Executive Director of the Housing Authority from 1994 to 2019 and was the first Project Manager for the Housing Authority prior to becoming Executive Director.
In addition to her husband at home, Kathy is survived by her children Ray R. Laughner and his wife Jackie of Canonsburg, PA and Jaci, Mrs., John DiMeglio of Northvale, NJ and grandchildren Alivia and Ava Laughner and Maria and Alex DiMeglio. She is also survived by a brother Richard Warmbrodt and his wife Michelle of Benezette and a sister-in-law Charlene Warmbrodt of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a son in infancy and brothers Edward and Mike Warmbrodt and a sister Ginny Warmbrodt.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen Laughner will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Saturday November 13, 2021 at 10 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, Pa on Friday evening from 5 to 8 PM.
If desired, memorial contributions should be made to Highlands Community Nurses Hospice, 757 Johnsonburg Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
