Kathleen A. Jacobs, 61, of 275 W. Center St., Johnsonburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday night (May 14, 2014) at her home surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1952, in Ridgway, a daughter of Jerome F. "Pat" and Genevieve Quagliani Kastner. On Sept. 22, 1978, in St. Boniface Church, Kersey, she married Robert E. "Bob" Jacobs, and he survives. She has resided in Johnsonburg since her marriage.
She graduated from St. Marys Area High School in 1970, then from the Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology in DuBois. She is a member of Holy Rosary Church. She loved traveling, attending craft shows, decorating and shopping and especially loved spending time with her family.
She was employed by Roy B. Constable's Stores of Johnsonburg for the past 20 years. She had also worked at Sylvania in St. Marys for nine years and had been a licensed beautician.
She is survived by her husband at home; one son and one daughter, Eric Robert Jacobs and Jenifer (Daniel) O'Neill, both of Charles Town, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Tyler J. and Katelin J. O'Neill, both of Charles Town; one brother and two sisters, Thomas J. Kastner, Susan (Rich) Wortman and Christine Kastner, all of Kersey.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Joseph Kastner.
A Mass of Christian burial for Kathleen A. Jacobs will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Kersey.
A celebration of the life of Kathleen A. Jacobs will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
