Obituary

Josephine A. "Jo" Tile, 91, of 114 Kane St., Wilcox, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2018 at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a brief illness.

She was born June 17, 1926 in Warren, daughter of the late Charles I. and Rose Pagano Pirillo.
She married John Tile on June 11, 1949 in St. Joseph's Church, Warren. He died Nov. 17, 2002.

She resided in Wilcox since 1950 and graduated from Warren High School in 1944 and later graduated from Beauty School in Erie.
She was a member of St. Anne Church. She was a member and held several leadership positions with the Elk County Democratic Committee. She was very active with the Elk unit of the American Cancer Society. She was involved with the Charismatic Renewal Prayer Group and participated and hosted many prayer groups. She was a former member of the St. Anne Parish Council and the Funeral Luncheon Committee.

Primarily a housewife, she had owned Jo's Beauty Shop in Warren for several years.

She is survived by five children, Mary Lynne Healy of Tampa, Florida, Kathleen J., Mrs. Jim Arigoni of Lewiston, New York, Linda Sue, Mrs. Billy Scull of Seffner, Florida, John G. Tile and his wife Linda of York and Christine B., Mrs. Jeff Ward of Atlanta, Georgia; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony "Jack" and Nick Pirillo; and two sisters, Eleanor Bidwell and Jennie in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine A. Tile will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo Magnus Church, Ridgway. Officiating will be Rev. Justin Pino, pastor. Interment will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Ridgway.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Tuesday evening, Jan. 30 from 6-8 p.m.
