A graveside service for Joseph Czekai, 64, of Amherst, NY and formerly of Johnsonburg, will be conducted Saturday June 6, 2020 at 10 AM in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg presiding. Mr. Czekai, lost his short battle with pancreatic cancer on March 20, 2020. He was born in St. Marys, PA on October 26, 1955 the son of the late Walter and Ann Fleming Czekai. He was a graduate of Elk County Catholic High School and Penn State University with a BS in Accounting. He lived most of his life in the Buffalo, NY area and was retired from PeroxyChem of Buffalo, NY. His lifetime passion was sports and rarely missed a home or away Buffalo Bills football game. He made his passion for sports a second job by becoming a referee, reffing volleyball, baseball and basketball games at home and as far away as Orlando, FL. Mr Czekai is survived by two sisters, Eva and Karen. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Christine Bauman of North Cedar Falls, IA. Local arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street, Johnsonburg, PA.
