John C. "Chet" VonArx, 60, of 142 Grove Street, Johnsonburg and formerly of Wilcox and Rock Springs, WY, died early Sunday morning, February 20, 2022 at Penn Highlands-Elk, St. Marys following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 11, 1961 in Kane, PA a son to the late Keith and Patricia Machowiak VonArx.

He was a 1979 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School. Chet loved to be outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. Part of a musical family, he was able pick up most instruments and play them by ear, especially the banjo.

John had lived the last several years in Johnsonburg, but had lived in Rock Spring, WY for many years where he worked for several oil and gas drilling companies, the last being Rocky Mountain Casing. He had most recently worked at Penn Pallet in St. Marys.

John is survived by his sister Jill, Mrs. Eric Koski of Elmira, NY and nephews Jack and Elliott Koski and niece Melissa VonArx.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother Joseph VonArx.

Funeral services for John C. "Chet" VonArx will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Interment will be private in Wilcox Cemetery.
