Joanne E. Dragone, 86, of Ridgmont Personal Care Home, Ridgway, and formerly of Ridgway Road, Johnsonburg, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday night, June 28, 2018 at Ridgmont following a lengthy illness.
She was born on Feb. 14, 1932 in Johnsonburg, daughter of George and Helen McAlee Peters.
On April 18, 1958, Joanne married Santo Dragone in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg who preceded her in death on April 7, 2001. She resided in Johnsonburg most of her life and graduated Johnsonburg High School Class of 1950.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburtg Senior Center and the Red Hat Society. She especially loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching and caring for her many pets throughout the years. She had worked at the Lynn Clare Flower shop for 10 years.
Joanne is survived by her children: three sons – Carmen Dragone of Ridgway, Joseph Dragone and his wife Wanda of St. Marys and David Dragone of Johnsonburg; three daughters – Sandy, Mrs. Frank Quattrone of Ridgway, Melinda, Mrs. Jeff Posterero of St. Marys and Maria Viglione of Olive Hill, Kentucky; nine grandchildren – Joshua Quattrone, Michelle Ramarge and Melissa Quattrone, Danielle Babiak and Santo Dragone, Tony and Claire Posterero, and Jena Shields and Nicholas Dragone; four great-grandchildren – Gavin and Paisley Ramarge, and Colton Babiak and Victor Posterero.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her parents and sisters: Dorothy Liscinski and Gloria Baieroski; brother, Robert Peters, and a daughter, Linda, in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joanne E. Dragone will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Monday July 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Rev. David J. Wilson, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be held at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home 401 Chestnut St. Johnsonburg, Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
