Jerd Duchi, 87, of 489 Marvin Street in Wilcox, formerly of Johnsonburg, died on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 31, 2018, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born on March 5, 1931, in Barnes, he was the son of Cleto and Mabel Zandi Duchi. He married Ruth M. Brunner on Aug. 18, 1961 in Wilcox, and she survives.
Jerd resided in Wilcox since 1970, he had previously lived in Johnsonburg. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church as well as the Wilcox Sportsmen's Club and Wilcox American Legion. He loved to be outdoors and was an avid hunter. He had especially loved spending time with family and friends at the family camp. He was a self employed logger for over 55 years retiring in 2002.
Along with his wife, Jerd is survived by six children: Rick Duchi and his wife, Pauline, of Ridgway; Jerd A. Duchi and Cindy of Mt. Jewett; Vickie Duchi of Wilcox; Paul Duchi of Wilcox; Chris Duchi and his companion, Hope, of Wilcox; and Nicole, Mrs. Mike Beck, of Cranberry Township; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was the last surviving member of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dawn Duchi Paul; brothers Dino, Silvio "Sib", Frank, Louie, Cleto, Floyd, Ferry and Bruno Duchi; and sisters Lillian Duchi and Gloria DeFabio.
A Funeral Service for Jerd Duchi will be held at the Anthony Ferragine Funeral Home in Johnsonburg on Monday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m. with Rev. David Wilson, pastor of Holy Rosary Church, officiating.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home at 401 Chestnut Street in Johnsonburg on Sunday evening, Nov. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
