Obituary

Janet M. Cherry Esposito, 84, of Main Street, Brockway, passed away early Saturday morning, with her family by her side, at Penn Highlands-Dubois, following a brief illness. She was born on May 3, 1938 in Johnsonburg, a daughter to the late Anthony J. and Emily Papa Cherry.

Janet was a 1956 graduate of Johnsonburg High School and was the 1955 Homecoming Queen. She has lived in Brockway since 1962. She was a member of St. Tobias Church, Brockway, and had been a member of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg.

Janet loved visiting and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and was excited to have just welcomed her first great-granddaughter in March of 2023. She was also an avid bingo player.

In January of 2000, she retired from Brockway Glass after 19 years of service.
Janet is survived by her children, Richard J. Esposito, Jr. and his wife Dana of Brockway, John F. Esposito of Enola, Richele Esposito of DuBois and Kristi Esposito Bart and her husband Stephan of Woodstock, MD, her grandchildren, Andy, Christopher, Nick, Jacob and Ben Bart, Philip Esposito and his wife Alecia Varischetti, and Julianna, Jarrett, Anthony and Cristina Esposito and her great-granddaughter Stevie Michele Esposito. She is also survived by brothers; John "Chisel" Cherry and his wife Sarah of Johnsonburg and Joseph "Butch" Cherry of St. Marys and sisters Anna Polaski of Johnsonburg and Elaine Myers and her husband Roger of Johnsonburg and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Janet is predeceased by brother Louis "Lu Lu" Cherry, Thomas Cherry, Joseph "JoJo" Cherry, three sibling in infancy, a brother-in-law Michael Polaski and a step-grandson Daniel Bart.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet M. Esposito will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Friday April 21, 2023 at 1:30 PM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, PA on Thursday evening, April 20, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM.
