Francis Peter "Pete" Tripodi, 87, of 5529 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Rd., Johnsonburg, died Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2018 at home following a lengthy illness.

He was born Jan. 14, 1931 in New Rochelle, New York, son of the late Fiore and Brunina Vavala Tripodi.
He married Grace Dippold on Oct. 28, 1950 in Sacred Heart Church, St. Marys, and she survives.
He resided in Johnsonburg most of his life and had lived in New Rochelle, New York and Warren.
He graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1949 and was a member of Holy Rosary Church and also was a member of both the Ridgway and St. Marys Sportsmen's Clubs, Pennsylvania Gun Collector's Association and the Ridgway and St. Marys American Legions. He was a superb rifleman.

He had worked at Airco-Speer for 30 years. He was a self-employed carpenter and gunsmith for many years.
In addition to his wife at home, he is survived by his children, Tom Tripodi of Ridgway, Donna Tripodi of Ridgway, David Tripodi of Ridgway, Christopher Tripodi and his wife Beverly of New Castle and Gina, Mrs. Tom Steudler of Johnsonburg; his grandchildren, Shawn Hanes, Gary Tripodi, Danny Hanes and his wife Missy, Ricky Tripodi and his wife Michele, Donna Tripodi and Forrest Harts and Nikki Tripodi; his great-grandchildren, Christian and Samantha Hanes, Alexis Carnovale, Riquel, Franki and Ricki Tripodi and Grady and Jax Harts; and his siblings, Stephen Tripodi and his wife Florence "Topper" of Indian Lake, Florida and Joseph Tripodi and his wife Bobbi of Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Sarginger and Grace Tassone.

A funeral service for Francis "Pete" Tripodi will be conducted Friday, April 20 at 10 a.m. at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor of Holy Rosary Church. Interment will be private.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening, April 19 from 6-8 p.m.
