Eugenia V. Beam, 90, of 388 Arbor Court, Monroe, Georgia, formerly of Florida and Johnsonburg, died Sunday morning, July 24, 2016 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born July 14, 1926 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Marion and Wladyslawa Silcosky Simchick.
She married Russell F. Voakes in 1948, he died in 1990. She then married Donald Beam in 1992, he died in 1997.
She resided in Monroe for the past year and had lived in Sun City Center, Florida for 17 years. A 1944 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, she had worked for Burdine's Department Store in Bradenton, Florida for 12 years before retiring in 1997.
She is survived by two sons, Russell Voakes and his wife Ellen of Monroe, Georgia and James Voakes and his wife Janet of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Pat, Mrs. Russell Girgenti of Sun City Center, Florida; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sons, Dennis, Roy and Mark Voakes; four brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Thomas and John Simchick; and her sisters, Nellie Dickey and Ann Curry, and her twin sister Virginia Gigliotti.
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service for Eugenia V. Beam to be conducted Saturday, July 30 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg. There will be no visitation.
