Emma M. McAninch, 80, of 3638 Wilcox Road, Johnsonburg, died Tuesday afternoon (April 29, 2014) in Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, after a lengthy illness.
She was born on Nov. 7, 1933, in Hallton, a daughter of Francis and Theodora Baughman Rhines. On July 17, 1953, she married Charles W. "Bill" McAninch, who survives.
Mrs. McAninch resided in Johnsonburg most of her life and attended school in Hallton. She was employed by the Elliott Co. in Ridgway for several years and the Hyde Hotel in Ridgway for several years.
She was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and spend time with her family.
In addition to her husband at home, Mrs. McAninch is survived by three sons, William E. (Nancy) McAninch of Johnsonburg, Michael "Mike" (Patty) McAninch of Albuquerque, N.M. and Scott J. (Christine) McAninch of Johnsonburg; two daughters, Kandis McAninch and Mike Severance of Johnsonburg and Lynn Groeger and Steve Mann of Johnsonburg; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judity "Judy" (Cletus) McClelland of Lake City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis Rhines Jr. and Gail Rhines.
Visitation will be private. A private funeral service will be held on Friday at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home Inc. with Pastor Jay Tennies of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway.
