Eleanor L. Anderson, 84, of 1553 Mefferts Run Rd., Wilcox, died Friday evening, Jan. 2, 2015 at her residence following a short illness.

She was born Aug. 31, 1930 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Stanley and Helen Matula Machoviak.
On Sept. 15, 1957 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Alton R. Anderson. He died Aug. 30, 1995.

She resided in Wilcox since 1951 and was formerly of Johnsonburg.
She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1948. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg.

She had worked at Sylvania in Emporium for seven years, Stackpole Carbon Co. in Kane for five years and Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital in St. Marys for 20 years.

She is survived by two sons, Blair R. Anderson and his wife Carolyn of Allentown, and Bruce A. Anderson of Wilcox; two daughters, Sandra J. Anderson of St. Marys, and Sharon A., Mrs. Henry Stephens of Arcadia, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Kenneth and Stuart Anderson, Sarah Stephens Cox, Elizabath Stephens, and Cody Marie and Caleb Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Alina Stephens, Jayel and Cyrus Cox, and Ian Alton Anderson; one brother, Richard G. Machoviak and his wife Mary of Parma Heights, Ohio; and one sister, Phyllis Moore of Norwich, Conn.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jane Raubenstrauch.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanor L. Anderson will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Wilcox Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Tuesday evening, Jan. 6 from 6-8 p.m.
