Elaine M. Duffner, 59, of 4423 Rockcrest Dr., Fairfax, Va., died Dec. 15, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 19, 1956 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Frank and Helen M. "Marge" Golebieski Szczotka.
She married David Duffner on June 16, 1984 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, and he survives.
She resided in Fairfax for the past 25 years and had also lived in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.
Elaine graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1974 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1978. She had also received her master's in education from George Mason University.
She was a member of the Church of the Nativity Catholic Church, Fairfax, Va. She was a National Board Certified Teacher and had retired from the Fairfax County Public School System after 26 years of service in 2004.
In addition to her husband at home, she is survived by two sisters, Lori, Mrs. Ray Wheeler of Johnsonburg and Leah, Mrs. Mark Sorge of Ridgway; one niece, Allyson Wheeler; and two nephews, Aaron and Michael Sorge.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine M. Duffner will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be private. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
