Obituary

Dorothy E. "Dot" Cardoni, 73, of 3377 Long Level Road, Johnsonburg, died Wednesday night, October 6, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA following a brief illness. She was born on January 13, 1948 in DuBois a daughter to the late Anna Updyke Kennedy. On September 26, 1970 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Joseph P. "Moe" Cardoni and he survives.

Dot was a lifelong resident of Johnsonburg and attended Johnsonburg schools. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church where she was very strong in her catholic faith. Family and friends were extremely important to her and she loved to spend time with all, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake and was known for her excellent cookies.

She had retired in 2019 from the Penn Highlands-Elk Health system after 40 years, where she worked in the hospital on the housekeeping staff for many years at Pinecrest Manor with the Resident Activities dep't.

In addition to her husband at home, Dot is survived by five children; Loretta Bryington and her husband Spider of Ridgway, Brenda Gaither and her husband Daniel of Lynchburg, VA, Bonnie Woodford and her companion Tom Hefright of Johnsonburg, Nick Cardoni of Johnsonburg and Tracy Gregori and her husband Bryon of Johnsonburg. She is also survived by grandchildren Nick Blair, Logan Paulik, Allysa Gaither, Ashley Rowland, Eric DeLong, Joshua and Joseph Woodford, Josie, Garret and Gino Gregori, Brianna and Emily Cardoni and Chad Whippo and great-grandchildren Alec, Liam and Emma Jo Woodford, Ava Paulik, Remi and Oden Rowland, Will, Carson and Hallie DeLong and Natalie and Lucy Lechien and a daughter in law Rebecca Cardoni.


In addition to her mother she was predeceased by a step-sister Beverly Gigliotti.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy E. "Dot" Cardoni will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:00am with Father David Wilson as celebrant  There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
