Donna L. Zimmerman Akers, 85, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys and formerly of Johnsonburg and Wilcox, died Tuesday night, December 22, 2020 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 8, 1935 in Johnsonburg a daughter of the late Glen and Ruth Shuey Allen. On July 3, 1953 at Kane, PA she married J. David Zimmerman. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1997. She married Roland "Gig' Akers and he survives.

Donna has lived in St. Marys since 2012 and had lived most of her life in Johnsonburg and Wilcox. She was a 1953 graduate of Wilcox High School. She was a member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church. Donna loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, she loved to bake and she loved to take care of others.

She retired from the Johnsonburg Area School District after many years working at the Johnsonburg Area High School Cafeteria. She had also worked for many years as a Private Duty Nurse's Aide. She had also worked as a Nurse's Aide at Kane Community Hospital and Kane Summit Hospital and had worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. in Kane.

Donna is survived by her 6 children; Rick D. Zimmerman and his wife Sally of Wilcox, Donald S. Zimmerman and his wife Cheryl of Johnsonburg, John D. Zimmerman of Johnsonburg, Cindy L., Mrs. Robert Ford of Ridgway, Kathy L. Boults of Wilcox and Amy J., Mrs. Randy Johnson of Ridgway, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters; Janet, Mrs. Charles "Snook" Holmberg of Johnsonburg and Glenna Sherry of Russell and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents and her first husband J. David Zimmerman.

Due to COVID restrictions, visitation and Funeral Services for Donna L. Zimmerman Akers will be private. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway, PA
