Dennis A. Ross, 76, of Upper St. Clair, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at Valencia Woods, Valencia, following a brief illness.
He was born July 6, 1941 in Kane, son of the late Anthony "Tony" and Margaret Gustafson Ross. He resided in Upper St. Clair since 1974.
He graduated from Johnsonburg Area High School in 1959 and received a degree in civil engineering from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1963.
He was a member of St. Louise De Marillac Catholic Church where he served as a lector. He enjoyed playing a variety of sports, including baseball, softball and golf, but was an especially avid racquetball player.
He had worked for Dravo Corporation and Kossman Development where he became vice president of construction in Pittsburgh and had been responsible for a variety of industrial and commercial construction projects throughout the area.
He is survived by his loving companion, Jeanne Bereznicki; his children, Michael "Mike" Ross and his wife Jacqueline of Broadview Heights, Ohio, Sue, Mrs. Andrew Bednar of Valencia and Bridget, Mrs. Eric Henze of New Albany, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Diana, Mrs. Ron Davis of Annandale, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Mary Ross of St. Marys; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nevin Ross.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis A. Ross will be held Saturday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor.
Interment will be held in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Local arrangements are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. at Beinhaur Family Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray.
