Charles W."Bill" McAninch of 3685 Wilcox Rd., Wilcox, died the evening of February 21, 2020 at UPMC Kane Community Hospital, Kane, PA following a brief illness.
He was born on June 28, 1931 in Johnsonburg, son of Howard W. and Goldie Updyke McAninch. On July 17, 1953 he married Emma M. Rhines who died on April 29, 2014.
Charles resided in Wilcox all his life. He attended Johnsonburg High School. He was a member of Johnsonburg United Methodist Church and Central Hose Social Club of Johnsonburg. He was also a member of the Voluneer Firemen's Assn. of Pennsylvania.
He is a Korean Era Army Vet serving as a Sergeant First Class with Co A, 467 th CML Mortar Bn, Camp Atterbury, IN. He retired from Willamette Industries, Johnsonburg Mill in 1992 after 44 1/2 years of service.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters: Michael McAninch and his wife Patti of Albuquerque, NM, Scott McAninch and his wife Kristina of Wilcox, Kandi McAninch and companion Mike Severance of Johnsonburg and Lynn Groeger and companion Steve "Pickle" Mann of Johnsonburg, Daughter-In-Law: Nancy McAninch of Johnsonburg. He has 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the last surviving member of his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, and son, William E. "Bill" "Snitcher" McAninch, and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Charles W. McAninch will be conducted at the the Anthony Ferragine Funeral Home, Johnsonburg on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 11 AM. Officiating will be Dan Reigel, Pastor of the Johnsonburg First Baptist Church. Interment will be at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, Pa, on Tuesday Morning from 10:00am until the Service time at 11:00am.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, Pa. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg-Ridgway Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM.
