Brenda L. Crowe, 69, of 606 Second Ave., Johnsonburg, died Friday morning, Aug. 7, 2015 at her residence following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 17, 1946 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Bernard and Blanche Elmquist Simchick.
She married John E. Crowe on June 22, 1963 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, and he survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1964.
Mrs. Crowe was a member of Holy Rosary Church and was an avid collector and especially loved her holiday ornaments. She also had lots of hobbies, especially sewing, cross-stitch and cooking.
She had worked at Keystone Carbon Co. of St. Marys for 39 years before retiring in 2008.
In addition to her husband at home, she is survived by two daughters, Colleen, Mrs. Luke Herzing of St. Marys, Anita, Mrs. Bill Moore of Erie; one son, Jay Crowe and his wife Tracy of Johnsonburg; seven grandchildren, Adam Geer, Jack Herzing, Kelly Moore and JJ, Max, Marcus and Allison Crowe; and one sister, Pamela, Mrs. Alan Mazzeferro of Kersey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marianne Lustig and Blanche Wilson.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Brenda L. Crowe will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonbrug on Monday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be held at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St. in Johnsonburg on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 6-8 p.m.
