Angeline J. "Angie" Scacchitti, 88, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, formerly of 229 Powers Ave., Johnsonburg, died early Tuesday morning, Aug. 15, 2017 at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.

She was born July 14, 1929 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Procopio Ferragine. She married Renato "Vince" Scacchitti on June 2, 1956 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. He died Feb. 10, 2010.

She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and graduated from Holy Rosary School and Johnsonburg High School in 1948.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She loved being a homemaker and her children and grandchildren. She loved shopping and crocheting. She especially loved Christmas as she hosted Christmas Eve and Christmas Day parties at her house for her entire family.

She retired from Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital in 1991 after 13 years. She had also worked at Stackpole Carbon Co. for eight years, the Johnsonburg GC Murphy Co. Store for several months and Pelps in Johnsonburg for a short time.

She is survived by two sons, Domenic Scacchitti and his wife Barbara of Kersey and Anthony Scacchitti and his wife Lisa of Cranberry Township; five daughters, Renetta Scacchitti of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jeanette, Mrs. John Prencipe of Johnsonburg, Antoinette, Mrs. Brian Grady of Clearwater, Florida, Bernadette, Mrs. Carl Richardson of Austin, Texas and Rosetta, Mrs. Tim Ishman of Pittsburgh; 14 grandchildren, Julia, Marla and Maria Scacchitti, Domenic Scacchitti and his wife Liz, Samantha Scacchitti, Anthony and Johnathan Prencipe, Brandon, Brock and Brianna Grady, Tyler and Travis Richardson, and Alexandra and Angela Ishman; one great-grandson, Sonny Pearce; one brother, Anthony F. Ferragine and his wife Veronica of Johnsonburg; one sister-in-law, Menina Scacchitti of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Vincent in infancy; two brothers, John and Robert Ferragine; and two sisters, Santina "Sandy" DeAngelo and Margarita in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Angeline J. "Angie" Scacchitti will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Friday, Aug. 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
